Terms & Conditions

Welcome to RÉMA Boat Rentals. Our mission is to provide a safe, enjoyable and unforgettable boating experience along the beautiful coastline of Rhodes. By making a reservation and signing the Rental Agreement, you agree to the following Terms & Conditions.

1. Booking & Confirmation

Bookings are subject to availability and are confirmed only after the required deposit has been received and a confirmation email has been sent by RÉMA Boat Rentals.

2. Payment & Cancellation Policy

A booking is confirmed once the required deposit has been received.

  • Free cancellation up to 48 hours before the scheduled departure.
  • Cancellations made less than 48 hours before departure are non-refundable.
  • If RÉMA Boat Rentals cancels a trip due to unsafe weather conditions or operational reasons, guests may choose to reschedule their booking or receive a full refund of the deposit.

3. Driver Requirements

  • No boat licence is required.
  • The driver must be 21 years of age or older.
  • A valid ID or passport must be presented before departure.
  • The driver is fully responsible for the safe operation of the boat throughout the rental.

4. Safety Briefing

Before departure, every renter receives a complete safety briefing covering:

  • Boat operation
  • Safety equipment
  • Navigation area
  • Local regulations
  • Emergency procedures
  • Recommended route

5. Navigation Rules (G.K.L. 38)

RÉMA Boat Rentals operates in accordance with G.K.L. 38 and all applicable Greek maritime regulations.

Guests must always follow the instructions provided during the safety briefing.

During your rental you must:

  • Navigate only within the permitted cruising area.
  • Stay at least 300 metres away from organised beaches.
  • Stay at least 200 meters from the coastline, from non-organised beaches and from areas where swimmers are usually present.
  • Maintain a safe distance from swimmers, divers and other vessels.
  • Respect all navigation and speed regulations.

Failure to comply with these regulations may result in fines, liability for damages and immediate termination of the rental.

6. Fuel Policy

Fuel is included in the rental price with no hidden costs.

Before departure, we'll explain the recommended route and provide simple tips to help you enjoy your trip while using fuel efficiently.

Only in the very rare event that additional fuel is required due to exceptional use or failure to follow the operating instructions provided during the safety briefing will additional fuel be charged at the current fuel price.

7. Alcohol & Prohibited Substances

For the safety of everyone on board, the consumption or possession of alcoholic beverages and illegal or prohibited substances is strictly prohibited during all RÉMA Boat Rentals experiences.

If, before departure, our staff reasonably believes that any guest is under the influence of alcohol or prohibited substances, RÉMA Boat Rentals reserves the right to refuse or cancel the rental.

In such cases:

  • The rental will be cancelled.
  • The boat will not be released.
  • No refund, including the deposit, will be provided.

If the consumption of alcohol or prohibited substances is discovered after the trip has started, RÉMA Boat Rentals reserves the right to terminate the rental immediately. Any resulting costs, damages or recovery expenses remain the responsibility of the renter.

8. Equipment Included

Every rental includes:

  • Fuel
  • Snorkeling Equipment
  • Cooler Box
  • Complimentary Bottled Water
  • GPS Navigation
  • Bluetooth Sound System
  • All legally required safety equipment

9. Return Time

Please return the boat at the agreed return time.

A 15-minute grace period is provided for safe docking and unforeseen delays.

After the 15-minute grace period, late returns are charged in full-hour increments at the standard hourly rental rate.

Examples:

  • Up to 15 minutes late → No charge
  • 16–60 minutes late → 1 additional hour
  • 61–120 minutes late → 2 additional hours
  • 121–180 minutes late → 3 additional hours

Late returns may affect other guests' reservations. If you think you may be delayed, please contact us as soon as possible.

10. Damage Responsibility

Before departure, every renter must sign the Rental Agreement.

The Rental Agreement includes the applicable charges for damages, missing equipment and repair costs.

By signing the Rental Agreement, the renter accepts full responsibility for any damage, negligence, misuse, grounding, collision, loss of equipment or any other damage caused during the rental period.

The renter agrees to pay the applicable charges listed in the signed Rental Agreement for any damage or loss resulting from the rental.

The boat must always be operated in accordance with the instructions provided during the safety briefing and within the permitted navigation area.

11. Engine Safety

If any warning light, alarm or unusual engine behaviour occurs, the engine must be switched off immediately and RÉMA Boat Rentals must be contacted before continuing the trip.

Continuing to operate the boat after an engine warning may result in the renter being held responsible for any additional damage.

12. Liability & Insurance

All boats are covered by third-party liability insurance in accordance with Greek legislation.

The renter remains fully responsible for any damage, loss or costs resulting from negligence, misuse, violation of these Terms & Conditions or any incident not covered by the applicable third-party liability insurance.

13. Swimming & Anchoring Rules

For your safety:

  • Always switch off the engine before anyone enters the water.
  • Never swim near a running engine or propeller.
  • Anchor only in locations recommended during the safety briefing.
  • Anchoring in prohibited or environmentally protected areas is strictly forbidden.

14. Pets

Well-behaved pets are welcome on board under the owner's responsibility.

Any damage or additional cleaning required as a result of bringing a pet will be charged to the renter.

15. Environmental Responsibility

We kindly ask all guests to help us protect the beautiful coastline of Rhodes.

Throwing rubbish, plastics, cigarette butts, food or any other waste into the sea is strictly prohibited.

Please use the waste container provided on board and help us keep our sea clean for everyone.

16. Lost Property

RÉMA Boat Rentals is not responsible for personal belongings that are lost, forgotten or damaged during the rental.

If any personal belongings are found after your trip, we will gladly contact you to arrange their return whenever possible.

17. Privacy Policy (GDPR)

Personal information is collected only for booking, communication and legal purposes.

RÉMA Boat Rentals complies with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and will never sell or disclose personal information unless required by law.

18. Force Majeure

RÉMA Boat Rentals cannot be held responsible for cancellations, delays or changes caused by severe weather conditions, natural disasters, government restrictions, harbour authority decisions or any other circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

Whenever possible, an alternative date or refund will be offered where applicable.

19. Right to Refuse Rental

RÉMA Boat Rentals reserves the right to refuse or terminate any rental if these Terms & Conditions are not respected or if, in our reasonable opinion, the safety of passengers, the vessel or other sea users may be at risk.

20. Applicable Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of Greece.

Any dispute arising from the rental agreement shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of Rhodes, Greece.
